Faith…its the time of year when it runs strong for many people. But what about faith in yourself? Faith that you can make the right decisions. Faith that your past does not dictate your future.
So many of us doubt our abilities- that we sabotage our success before we even start. We have one bad day- so we know we’re gonna blow it and within a week we give up.
Please don’t do that. You have the ability to change your future by what you decide to do today.
Are you a crazy busy parent with a ton on your plate right now? We all are- we are a bunch of crazed parents trying to find some quality time during this magical season- I love the quiet moments I get during the holidays. There is definitely not enough moments like that. I’m sure many of you know what I mean.
But that doesn’t mean you give up and think it can’t be done.
In the last 2 weeks I’ve heard from 3 of my clients in my private group. These are individuals who JOINED a group in November- not a typical time to start a fitness journey. They knew they wouldn’t be perfect. They have jobs, families and other stressors. But they also knew they needed a change and so they had FAITH in themselves that they could do it.
And this is what they did:
“Mike” lost 13 pounds. THIRTEEN POUNDS!!!!
“Susan” lost 10 pounds. In her words: “Today was an awesome day for me. I have lost 10 lbs since I admitted my weight was at an all time high.”
“Jami” lost 6 pounds: “Even with the Thanksgiving holiday and a few slipups here and there I managed to lose 6 pounds in the last challenge group and I’m ready for the next group.”
They had FAITH in themselves that they could do it. And they did. Now they will be heading into the New Year continuing their fitness journey instead of starting it and I couldn’t be more proud of each of them.
Do you have that FAITH in yourself too? It’s ok if you don’t right now. Just know that you CAN have that faith- make it a goal to have it- know that it’s in your POWER to have it. And remember I’m always here to help. In January I will be starting 2 challenge groups- a shorter 4 week one and a longer one (3 months). There will never be a perfect time to start- but January is pretty close to perfect.
It will not be easy for many- but over time it will get easier and the rewards of healthy living are truly priceless. Have FAITH that this is something you can do..for yourself and for your family. Our children learn from us and a healthy and happy parent is the best gift you can give them.
